2026

FEBRUARY

  • Hilarity and minimal domestic conflict ensue when Terry and Ted are joined in-studio by Terry's wife and our executive producer, Jessica Dionne. Item description

  • A deep dive on the developmental and lifestyle side of Canadian hockey with Bobby Dollas, who brings more than four decades of experience as a player, coach and broadcaster at multiple levels, including 16 seasons in the NHL. Includes bonus anecdotes from the locker room, the back of the bus and the plane.

  • Nepotism Month on the Standing By podcast kicks off with a guest appearance by Ted's broadcaster/podcaster/content creator son, Sam Bird, two weeks before we welcome our executive producer and Terry's wife, Jessica Dionne. Produced by Mano Maropakis, whose uncle Pantelis owns the studio.

  • Parking tickets, credit card fraud, and the marathon wait for customer service. Other than that it was a good week.

JANUARY

  • Terry brings down the curtain on the short-term grieving process after the passing of his father, reflecting on what it means to be on the receiving end of condolences and the power of  community in adverse times.

  • Without being maudlin or self-indulgent, the podcast strikes a sombre note this week with a tribute to Terry's dad, who passed away January 10th after a long and productive life dedicated to family and old school work ethic.  Needless to say, the episode is not steeped in hilarity, but there are multiple moments of mirth because that's the way Lou DiMonte would have wanted it.

  • This week, we tap into the underrated local online news magazine The Main to learn one of the great untold World War 2 stories with a uniquely Montreal angle. Also, line brawling for tykes and celebrity blowhards at the Golden Globes.

  • In the inaugural episode of 2026, Terry and Ted ponder their unintentional dearth of Christmas spirit over the holiday season. Also, Habs at the ODR, the West Island's burgeoning restaurant scene, and an overdue shoutout to rotisserie chickens.
